What is sustainability? Sustainability is the prevention of using natural resources as a priority for eco-friendly balance.
The Positive Impact
Wouldn’t it be nice to be recognized and rewarded for helping the environment? Many companies, industries and homeowners are doing so by practicing sustainability. Positive effects such as tax credits, increase in customers and improved company image has played a role in supporting sustainable companies and homes.
Some products and services including digital software, motor companies, banks, landfills and energy companies are contributing to the successful incline in eco-friendly ethics. This is only a small fraction of products, services and industries that I have listed, but this will give you an idea of who is taking advantage of helping the environment.
By increasing your sustainability, you’re not just helping yourself, but you are also improving the environment as a whole. With the idea to use less natural resources, we can decrease the amount of pollutants that are in the air we breathe, water we drink and foods that we consume. A healthier environment equals a healthier you!
Examples of Technology That Are Going Green
I could take quite a bit of your time if I went through all of the examples that have been designed for improving sustainable products and services, but I know you’re busy, so I will only list a few. Please keep in mind that this is NOT anywhere near the complete list.
- Paperless billing
- Direct deposits from banks (less paper checks)
- Wind turbines to create energy
- SaaS (Software as a Service)
- Electric cars
- Energy efficient appliances
- Recycled materials to use for building structures
- Organic foods
- Support companies who practice eco-friendly products/services
If you are interested in making positive changes for the way you live or do business, then now is the time to take advantage of what technology has to offer. Going green is more than just recycling and turning the water off in your kitchen when you’re not using it. Try to make additional changes that will also convenience you at home and in the workplace.
Cutting back on the amount of paper being used at work is a great start! According to https://www.wastefreemail.com/faq.html, “Every year, Americans use more than 90 million short tons of paper and paperboard. That's an average of 700 pounds of paper products per person each year. Every year in America, more than 2 billion books, 350 million magazines, and 24 billion newspapers are published” (Waste-Free Mail – Saving the Planet One Mailing, March 22, 2017). This is an outstanding amount of paper being wasted and you can play a factor to decrease these numbers!
What Do We Recommend?
It is hard to choose the right company with so many new products and services out there. Although we cannot recommend every service that would fit your personal needs and benefits, we can recommend one, and that would be a modern day time clock company called OnTheClock. This digital punch clock company offers SaaS (Software as a Service) to replace the old punch clock system and it's all completely web-based.
By eliminating the traditional style punch cards and replacing them with digital ones, it has allowed OnTheClock to participate in establishing a high-functioning sustainable company while pleasing over 6,000 customers in the process. This is not done by accident; it is done because we value the environment and our customer's success. This is part of the reason why we offer a 30 day free trial so customers can see for themselves.
Don’t be left in the dark on a beautiful sunny day while others are helping so we can continue to have more of them. Go green now and enjoy the benefits!
