  Migrating HR services in-house

  Josh had been using a service to help handle employment tasks, but the company decided they wanted to reduce cost and switch this to in-house. They would need software that could handle day-to-day tasks but maintain simplicity for the staff. The number one need was time tracking. "Tracking employee time off, overtime, and general hours worked is important for us. Also, it has to be something our employees trust and provide transparency. Employees need to be confident that the information is accurate," Josh said.

  Not enough or too much

  He found multiple options while searching for a time tracking solution. He often faced too many unnecessary bells, and whistles, or the functionality was so simple there wasn't enough to encompass their needs." Many didn't offer the trial option, or onboarding was complicated, and they wanted to meet with me," Josh said. Most of the solutions were not for small business operations. He found that many were for large-scale corporate companies.

  Employees need transparency

  When it comes to time, employees need to rely on the system they are using to help them track their hours worked. They want to feel confident that the time they submit accurately reflects their work. Excel sheets were hard to manage, and employees were unsatisfied. "We needed third-party software to remove the guesswork from an Excel sheet," Josh said.
