Overview

Purchasing OnTheClock in ADP’s Marketplace

You will find OnTheClock listed inside ADP’s Marketplace. To set up the application in conjunction with your Run Powered by ADP account, follow the steps below. 

  1. Step 1: Visit the ADP App Marketplace.
  2. Step 2: Enter “OnTheClock” in the search bar. 
  3. Step 3: Click on “Buy Now” and complete the purchase. 
  4. Step 4: On the purchase confirmation page, click “Manage Consent.”
  5. Step 5: Log into your ADP account to bring up the Content Manager.
  6. Step 6: Click “Allow” to give OnTheClock consent to access RUN Powered by ADP. 
  7. Step 7: Set the time zone for your OnTheClock time clock.
  8. Step 8: Set your pay period type. Be sure it matches your ADP setup. 
  9. Step 9: Click Save Settings

Note: You can view your connection status to ADP from your OnTheClock account’s Payroll Providers page. (You can find this by navigating to “Settings,” then “Time Clock Settings.”)

Importing and Syncing Employees

You can sync your employees’ first and last names and email addresses from ADP to your OnTheClock account. Terminated employees and those on a leave of absence will not be included. 

  1. Step 1: After logging into your OnTheClock account, click “My Team.”
  2. Step 2: From your Team Directory, click “Add new team members,” then “Import Powered by ADP Run.”

Creating Employee Profiles

When importing employees from ADP to OnTheClock, we will attempt to match existing profiles. You must create one if employees do not have an existing OnTheClock profile. To create a new OnTheClock employee profile, click the drop-down box next to the employee's name, then “Create New.” 

Importing Select Employees 

If you’d only like to import select employees, click the “Do Not Sync” button. This will prevent all unlinked employees from being imported. You can then set the employees you want to import to “Create New.”

What to Expect

Sending Time Cards from OnTheClock to ADP

You can export OnTheClock time cards to Run Powered by ADP®️ for processing at the end of your pay period.

  1. Step 1: After logging into your OnTheClock account, click the “Time Cards” button. 
  2. Step 2: To begin your export, click on “RUN Powered by ADP®️ Export.”
  3. Step 3: Log in to your Run Powered by ADP account and complete the payroll process. 

What Time Card Data Can OnTheClock Send to ADP? 

OnTheClock will send this time card data to Run Powered by ADP®️:

  • Regular hours
  • Overtime hours
  • Overtime 2 hours
  • Overtime 3 hours
  • Personal hours
  • Vacation hours
  • Holiday hours
  • Sick hours
  • Cash tips
  • Bonus amount
  • Commission

Login Credentials

When using the ADP Core Connector, your OnTheClock login credentials will automatically be generated for you by ADP. Your username will be the same as the email you use to access ADP, and your password will be randomly generated. To access your OnTheClock account, use single sign-on (SSO) via ADP. You can also access your OnTheClock account by navigating to the “My Apps” section of your ADP dashboard. After using ADP to log into your OnTheClock account, you can set your OnTheClock password to whatever you like. 

Canceling Your OnTheClock Subscription

If you need to cancel your OnTheClock subscription, you must do so via your ADP account. 

  1. Step 1: Log into your Run Powered by ADP®️ account.
  2. Step 2: Navigate to the ADP Marketplace.
  3. Step 3: Navigate to “My Apps.”
  4. Step 4: Locate the OnTheClock app.
  5. Step 5: On the drop down menu, click “Manage” then “Cancel Subscription.”

Note: Disconnecting your OnTheClock account from ADP will not cancel your OnTheClock subscription.

Do I have to offer OnTheClock consent to access my Run Powered by ADP® account?
Yes — for your ADP data to be integrated with OnTheClock, you must consent to share account data.
What if I denied consent on accident?
Log into your ADP account and navigate to “My Apps.” Then, launch the OnTheClock application. You will be prompted to offer consent.
How can I confirm my ADP and OnTheClock employees are synced?
After logging into your OnTheClock account, navigate to “Employees,” then “View Full Employee List.” Click on an employee’s name to open their profile. If the sync is successful, it will state “Synced from ADP on [Date and Time]” in the Notes field (under “Additional Options”).
I made an update to my OnTheClock time cards after exporting them to ADP. How do I get the updates to show on ADP?
In this scenario, you should re-export your OnTheClock time cards to your ADP account.
How do I update my billing information?
You must update your billing information through ADP.
How much will you charge?
Billing for your OnTheClock use can be found in your Run Powered by ADP® account. Billing starts at $3.50 per employee for each month.
Do I still get a free 30-day trial with OnTheClock?
Yes — At any time during the free trial, you may upgrade to the paid subscription. Upgrading to a paid account prior to your trial expiring will prevent disruptions to workflow.
I am receiving an error signing into ADP. How do I fix this?
Ensure that your email address used for your ADP account matches your administrator email address for OnTheClock. They must match exactly.
