Why Time Clock to Payroll Integrations Matter
Manually entering employee hours into payroll wastes time and increases the risk of costly mistakes. OnTheClock helps eliminate duplicate data entry by syncing approved hours directly with many of the payroll providers small businesses already use. Whether your business relies on QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, Square, or another payroll platform, you'll spend less time preparing payroll and more time running your business.

OnTheClock Time Clock and Payroll Integrations FAQs
How much setup work does a payroll integration take?
Most one-click integrations (QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, Square, etc.) take a few minutes to connect: You connect your payroll account once, and hours sync automatically after that. CSV-based integrations require exporting a file each pay period, which takes a few extra minutes but no ongoing setup. How often does data sync between OnTheClock and my payroll provider?
One-click integrations sync on demand, whenever you approve a payroll run. CSV exports are generated whenever you're ready to run payroll — there's no automatic background sync for those, since you control when the file is exported. If I correct a time entry after I've already synced payroll, what happens?
Corrections made after a sync don't automatically update in your payroll system — you'll need to re-sync or re-export to reflect the change. This is standard across one-click and CSV integrations alike, so it's worth approving time carefully before the first sync each pay period. Are there any limits on what data transfers in an integration?
One-click integrations transfer hours, overtime, and in some cases PTO directly. CSV exports carry whatever fields the destination payroll system requires — some are ready for direct upload, others may need minor formatting adjustments, which is noted for each provider above. If I run into trouble setting up an integration, how do I get help?
OnTheClock's award-winning support team is available by phone and message to help troubleshoot a connection or a CSV format issue — you're not left to figure out a failed sync alone.
