Pipeview Technologies Reports Numerous Benefits After Upgrading to OnTheClock
Pipeview Technologies had been tracking time using the same mobile app for years, though they always felt like they could get more juice out of the squeeze. So, the company set out on a quest to find a more efficient, affordable, and optimal fit.

The challenges you faced
-
Exporting hurdles
The company struggled to export its time data into its third-party payroll system, as the data had to be converted from time to decimals, wasn’t in alphabetical order, etc.
-
Inadequate communication
When punches were missed, employees communicated their tardiness via text or email rather than within the time tracking system itself.
-
Lack of location services
Managers sought a time tracking system that could track employees’ whereabouts using a GPS system.
“Initially, we were looking for a more affordable option – that was the goal. Then, our owner found OnTheClock, and we discovered it had GPS tracking, an employee chat function, a more streamlined export function, etc. It ended up being a better fit for us at a cheaper price.”
Karen Hughes | Office Manager, Pipeview Technologies
Over time, Pipeview Technologies had simply outgrown its existing time tracking app. The platform could not translate standard time values into decimals, lacked an internal chat feature, and was, frankly, a bit too expensive.
“Our owner was seeking a more affordable solution and had heard about OnTheClock,” said Karen Hughes, office manager, Pipeview Technologies. “So, I checked it out and was pleasantly surprised at how it was able to meet our needs – especially at the price.”
In addition to the affordability, OnTheClock offered various features, such as GPS tracking, simple payroll integration, and more, which helped boost Pipeview Technologies’ productivity.
“Something as simple as listing employees’ names in alphabetical order was important to me,” said Hughes. “Now, I can simply plug in our hours, alphabetically, straight down the line, into our payroll system. It’s quick, easy, and efficient.”
With OnTheClock, if employees miss a punch, they can simply send a note in the app itself, simplifying any timecard changes that need to be made before payroll is completed.
“Previously, employees would send me a text message, and I’d have to go into our system and manually make the correction,” said Hughes. “OnTheClock allows employees to send chat messages, which maintains a record of all requests directly in the app. It’s saved me a ton of time.”
If and when a question arises, Hughes appreciates the ability to chat with OnTheClock’s support team, which is staffed with real people who are equipped to answer questions quickly and efficiently.
“The chat support has been helpful when we need questions answered quickly,” said Hughes. “Our HR platform doesn’t offer chat support, and you notice a difference when it’s not there when you need it.”
